about
I've had the idea to write new songs to the remnants of various unused John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) studio outtakes I've collected online for years now.. It seems like as good a time as any to put the collection out there out in the world. The project is called BENGALS and the album "The Drop Zone" (named after the arcade of the same name that was once located in a a strip mall in Fuquay-varina, NC beside the greatest pet store of all time: "Patt's Perch.") and has contributions from Brian Weeks (De La Noche/Summer Set) on guitar, bass and tambourine and Matt Douglas (Mountain Goats) on Sax.
Of course these tracks are not for sale digitally.. There are 200 free digital downloads available, but the entire album can be experienced inside the Virtual Reality PKG to be played on the Oculus Quest.
Also a limited edition bootleg cassette run that features additional content not found on in the Virtual Listening room.
Hope you enjoy it!
Ivan

Noise pop at its finest from this rambunctious Melbourne group that thrives on louder-than-loud guitars and belted-out vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 4, 2024
I now have 4 different versions of "Sweet Sweet Charity" and it's so awesome to hear how the song evolved over Ronnie's different projects. From this very early version all the way to Rainbow Rider and then Joy Electric. This album really is a wonderful glimpse of where both Joy Electric and Starflyer 59 came from. Jason Baker
